Nothing is Impossible

I am up to 20% of my monthly support and hoping to reach 50% by the end of the month. That's a big jump! BUT, it's really not too bad! I've broken it down a little bit and realized that in order to reach 50% of my monthly support in the next 10 days I just have to find:

7 (and a half) people willing to give $100 a month.

OR

10 people willing to give $75 a month.

OR

15 people willing to give $50 a month.

OR 

30 people willing to give $25 a month.

OR

37 people willing to give $20 a month.

OR

75 people willing to give $10 a month.

OR

745 people willing to give $1 a month.

Nothing is impossible and God will provide. I was recently reading about the Israelites leaving Egypt and how they were to ask the Egyptians for their things and the Egyptians gave them to the Israelites! That seems weird to me, but it shows how God provides for His people in ways we would never even guess. Please consider if you are able and willing to support me in my new ministry. And don't let your pride stop you, no gift is insignificant. We cannot even fathom what God is able to do with just a few dollars. He fed 5000 with some bread and fish, and I know He will continue to amaze us!

God Provides

Hey All!

Just a quick update for you on my support raising. It is hard! It is scary! It is much more challenging than I even imagined! BUT it is what God has for me right now, so I persevere! As of yesterday I have reached 15% of my monthly goal. There is a long way to go, but it is so evident that the Lord is working and providing for me in this. Thank you to those of you who have already supported me financially, and to those who are still praying about it! Thank you also for your prayers and encouragement. I couldn't do it without all of you!

Word for the Year

Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm a few days late, but the year has been off to a crazy start! In the past ten days I've been in seven states! I've celebrated my brothers 8th birthday and one of my most precious friend's wedding. Now I am crossing a few more states to make it back to Michigan where I will be for a couple weeks working on raising support for my new job with Calvary Church in State College, Pennsylvania. 

This year is my 4th year participating in "Word For The Year". The idea is that you pick a word to focus on between you and God. My first word was 'Delight' then 'Pursue' next 'Intentional' and this year my word is 'Greater'. I never know all that God has in store for me to learn when I pick the word at the beginning of the year, but it is always an adventure finding out.

This year I chose 'Greater'. Because God is greater. I often start to notice this challenging things around me and get my focus stuck on them. Things like: still adjusting to living in a new place, cancer, kids living without parents, trying to raise support for my job, people being homeless in this cold weather... But although all those things are struggles, God is greater and I should keep my focus on Him. Also this year I hope that God and my relationship continues to grow greater and greater. I'm excited.
